Plot Summary
True Beauty follows the story of Lim Ju-kyung, a high school student who has been bullied her entire life for being considered "ugly." After being constantly ridiculed, she masters the art of makeup through online tutorials, transforming herself into a beautiful girl overnight. With her new looks, she transfers to a new school where she is immediately admired by her classmates. However, she struggles to keep her bare face a secret, fearing rejection and ridicule.
At her new school, she meets two boys—Lee Su-ho, a cold yet kind-hearted top student, and Han Seo-jun, a rebellious but warm-hearted bad boy. Su-ho, who harbors painful memories from his past, is the only one who sees Ju-kyung without makeup and still accepts her for who she is. Meanwhile, Seo-jun, who has a tough exterior but a soft heart, starts to develop feelings for Ju-kyung as well.
As Ju-kyung navigates high school life, romance, and self-acceptance, she learns that true beauty lies not in appearance but in confidence and self-love. The drama explores themes of bullying, mental health, friendship, family relationships, and self-worth.
